Volunteer Meals on Wheels Driver

SERVE is a charity supporting older people and adults with disabilities to live independently in their own homes. Our Meals on Wheels service is growing, and we are seeking compassionate individuals to ensure every meal is delivered with care and warmth.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable volunteer to join our meals on wheels team to support our current driver in delivering hot meals to service users in the local community.

The role involves delivering meals directly from our kitchen to residents in HIgham Ferrers, Rushden, Irchester and Stanwick. 

What skills do I need?

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect hot meals from SERVE's Ron Manning Day Centre by 12pm
• Deliver meals promptly and courteously to service users, ensuring meals remain hot and ready to eat.
• Follow a set delivery route and maintain communication with the team if issues arise.
• Offer a friendly and respectful presence to those receiving meals, many of whom are elderly or vulnerable.
• Report any concerns about service users' wellbeing to SERVE staff.

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Own reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
• Willingness to ungo a DBS check (enhanced level)
• Provide 2 references
• Punctual, dependable and able to work independently
