We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. NDSSG is a small charity which supports the needs of people with Downs Syndrome and their families and carers.  We provide peer support and information as well as a range of regular social and sporting activities, from dance classes and football coaching, to baby groups and family mini-breaks. Since becoming a registered charity in 2022, the demand for our services has grown dramatically and we now support over 350 families across Nottinghamshire.

As Treasurer you will be supported by and work with a Finance Administrator as well as our friendly team of Trustees. You will help us to deliver our services by maintaining financial oversight and providing financial information to the Trustees, advising them of the implications of our strategic and operational plans. By ensuring that all appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place, you will be contributing to the success of our charity as well as helping us provide essential opportunities to the Downs Syndrome community of Nottinghamshire.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  •  experience of having financial control and budgeting
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • the ability to ensure decisions are taken and followed-up
  • experience of fundraising
