We are seeking empathetic and dependable individuals to join our Volunteer Transport Service, which provides vital transport for elderly and disabled clients within the Broxtowe Borough area. This service plays a crucial role in helping clients access appointments, local amenities, and social opportunities. 

Our clients frequently report that they prefer using our service over taxis. This is due to the reliability, friendliness, and familiarity offered by our volunteer drivers. Seeing a familiar face, for those experiencing loneliness or isolation, is often as valuable as the journey itself.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • To use either own car or WAV to transport clients to various locations across the county 
  • Offer a wait and return service for clients with medical appointments of up to one hour 
  • To be able to push a manual wheelchair, if driving the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle 
  • To record journeys, complete receipts and handle a small amount of cash

What skills do I need?

Person Specification:

  • Must hold a full UK driving license and valid insurance  
  • Able to complete an enhanced DBS check 
  • Good communication and listening skills 
  • Reliable and trustworthy
