PEGS supports parents, carers and guardians who are experiencing child to parent abuse. We provide support at no charge as we believe everyone should have access to the help that they need.

This volunteer role would include contacting, by telephone, parents, carers and guardians who have self referred or who have been referred into PEGS to discuss the support that is available to them. The aim of this is to create engagement with those referred and to ensure they are aware of what support they can access. PEGS\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' service manager will work with volunteers to ensure they are aware of what needs to be done, work will be set out on a weekly basis. An induction period, volunteer reviews and full training will be provided. This role does include some data entry and may include signposting to other services if PEGS is not right for them.

Your help will ensure we reach out to those who are experiencing Child to parent abuse. You will be the first voice of PEGS that they hear. You will be contributing to change and helping our service users.

Disclaimer:

This role involves working directly with parents who are experiencing Child‑to‑Parent Abuse (CPA). Due to the emotionally demanding nature of this work and the potential for vicarious trauma, the role is not suitable for individuals who are currently experiencing CPA themselves or who have been personally impacted within the past 12 months.

We recognise, however, that many parents deeply value the opportunity to support others and contribute to the work of PEGS. If this applies to you, we warmly encourage you to get in touch to explore alternative volunteering opportunities that may be a better fit at this time.

What skills do I need?

You should have IT skills and customer service skills. Experience working with parents/carers would be desirable but not essential. You must be empathetic and be able to direct a conversation. You should be friendly and approachable.
