Surplus Food Driver - Wednesdays

We are looking for an independent vehicle owner with a clean driving license, who can pick up food items for us. You will drive to Southampton and then deliver to the John Pound Community Centre on Queen Street in Portsmouth.

Must be capable of lifting weights up to 40kgs and willing to load and unload the food items.

There is parking available to unload.

All items to be delivered to the kitchen within the centre. 

Mileage expenses will be covered. 

The volunteer is welcome to join us for a free 3 course meal at 6 pm on Wednesday. 

About the Organisation

FoodCycle Portsmouth runs volunteer-powered community meals, reducing food poverty & social isolation by serving tasty, nutritious meals to vulnerable people. Nationally, our incredible volunteers have served +125,000 meals made using over 146,000kg of surplus food.

What skills do I need?

• Reliable and available on Wednesday afternoons
• Excellent Driver
• Must be capable of lifting weights up to 40kgs and willing to load and unload the food items
• Before the volunteering session you will need to complete a 10min training video and quick quiz
