Join Scouts and help 10½–14-year-olds gain confidence, independence, and life skills through adventure. Volunteer to inspire young people, lead exciting activities, and make a real difference while developing your own skills too. Discovering the world. Thinking big. Survival skills. We could go on and on! Anything to do with the outdoors, camping or nature, we’ll bet you Scouts do it. All that’s missing now? You. Our Scouts Team Members are the movers and shakers in our Scout groups. By this we mean they have big barrels of energy, bold activity plans and bright ideas. You’ll learn how to pitch a tent, light a campfire and build dens. Or, maybe you’ll try out juggling, sketching or parascending. It’s not just our young people that gain skills for life, but our Team Members, too. Scouts is open to everyone and that includes our amazing volunteers. We know you have something to bring to the team, whether that’s your excellent cooking skills or even just a big smile. Go on, give it a go. We’re sure you’ll never look back.
- Ability to work well with young people, adapting to their needs to ensure all young people can take part - Ability to communicate and work well within a team - Ability to understand and a willingness to complete training (mostly online) provided by The Scout Association - Ability to have fun and engage with young people
