Age UK Surrey's East Molesey shop needs your smile! As a Retail Assistant, you'll be the heart of our store - sorting fabulous donations, creating eye-catching displays, and serving customers with warmth. Every item you handle helps fund vital services for older people in our community. No experience? No problem! We'll give you all the training you need.

Main Duties:

• You will be greeting customers to make them feel welcome
• Serving customers on the till
• You could help to display and sell merchandise in our shop and be a major part of the team
• Sorting and valuing donated items
• Our revenue helps support our services to older people.

Personal Qualities:

• No previous retail knowledge is necessary but you need a desire to learn
• Ability to work as part of a team and also independently
• You have a friendly and helpful attitude at all times.

What skills do I need?

This isn't just retail - it's retail with purpose! You'll develop valuable customer service skills while chatting with our regulars, learn merchandising tricks to make donations look their best, and gain proper till experience.

Many volunteers find their confidence grows as they become part of the shop's daily rhythm. You'll also get unique insights into how charity retail directly supports older people in Surrey.

It does not matter whether you have retail experience or you are experienced in shop sales - you will receive all the training and support needed for this role. We want our shop to become known in the local area for being the place to go if you are looking for specific items. This is opportunity to gain new skills and experience in retail and you will be in a friendly team and supported by your Manager. The role is an opportunity to gain new skills and experience in retail and merchandising.

You will be attending a new volunteer Induction and shop training.

The role requires two references which Age UK Surrey will apply for on your behalf. Volunteers need to be age 18 or over.

Expenses: Age UK Surrey will reimburse agreed minor expenses.
