Cedarwood is an amazing community hub.  We want the outside of our building to be as smart and appealing as the inside, but our gardens have suffered from a lack of care and attention in recent years.  We need a team of volunteers to work together to bring this ambition to reality. We’re particularly interested if you’re willing to take a lead role in formulating a plan and directing the work of others.

Volunteering at Cedarwood, your day-to-day tasks may include:

  • digging, planting and weeding flower beds and borders
  • pruning shrubs and trees
  • checking the health of plants and controlling pests
  • looking after the appearance of plants and the surrounding landscape
  • litter picking
  • cleaning and maintaining equipment

What skills do I need?

o   reliable and conscientious

o   attention to detail

o   patience and dedication to the task

o   the ability to work well with others

o   the ability to work outdoors

o   the ability to work well with your hands

o   knowledge of growing cycles, seasonal produce

o   have worked an allotment  or garden before

If you volunteer for more than four hours in a day, we will provide you with your lunch, and we can help with travel expenses to and from Cedarwood.
