The Old Bluecoat School is a historic 700 year old building in Thatcham, now run by a Charity, and used for hiring to community groups. https://oldbluecoatschool.org.uk/
The role is a vital part of our Charity's operation. You would be the central point of contact for hirers who wish to make a booking. Contact may be by phone, email or booking form. Having agreed the booking you would log the event on our website Calendar and pass the details to our Financial administrator.
You would organise opening and locking up the building for occasional hirers by sharing the task among the other half a dozen Trustees. Many of our bookings are from regular hirers so need minimal assistance.
You would attend a Committee meeting once every two months.
All money and booking fees invoicing are handled by our Financial administrator.
The above is the minimum requirement. There are opportunities to expand the role depending on your interests.
You would be fully supported by the Trustees who remain responsible for the Charity’s operation.
This role is home-based with occasional trips to the OBS. The OBS is situated in Chapel Street, Thatcham, RG18 4JT.

The time commitment is flexible and is mainly a working from home role, with occasional visits to the Old Bluecoat School.
We estimate an average of two hours a week would be needed, although some parts of the year are busier. e.g. January when Regular Hirers apply to make block bookings for the next year.
