This varied and interesting role involves working with the Visitor Experience Team, including the Duty Supervisor, Volunteer Co-Ordinator, and Front of House staff and volunteers, as well as interacting with the general public. 

As a FOH Volunteer you will be

Welcoming visitors as they arrive and responding to initial enquiries.

• Providing information to visitors about entry requirements, current exhibitions and events.

• Explaining the benefits of our Membership scheme.

• Acting as a steward in the galleries and checking visitors have a valid entry ticket.

• Keeping yourself up to date with our current programme.

. Minimum age 16.

What skills do I need?

Although no prior skills are required, this is one of the most important volunteering roles at The Lightbox.  Our FOH volunteers are important ambassadors for the Gallery, as they are often the main people visitors encounter during their visit. You will hear first-hand what people enjoy about The Lightbox as well as what they don’t like so much.

The ideal person for this role will be of smart appearance, interested in the arts and their local community, have excellent communication skills and enjoy the opportunity to talk to visitors. Experience in a customer service role may be helpful. You will also be able to remain calm during busy periods.
