Our new volunteering service sits within the Children’s Services department. We already have a number of volunteers within the department and are looking to significantly expand the number of opportunities available over the next two years. Current and future opportunities include: carrying out return interviews for children in care who have gone missing, sitting on referral order panels (helping to guide and support young offenders), supporting teams with transport, focused work with families for set periods of time and mentoring schemes for young people who need support to get back/stay on track. As we develop our new service, we will be actively engaging with all stakeholders to develop new volunteering streams.
