The ultimate aim of Essex Dementia Care is to contribute to the health and well-being of families living with dementia in Essex. We have two main functions: the direct care and therapeutic support of people with dementia. the training and education of those who care for people with dementia. Our key objectives are: to keep people out of long-term care and at home in their community. to keep the family together and the person with dementia engaged in an active lifestyle which maintains high levels of well-being. to provide respite to the family carer. to educate and inform families and professionals about good quality dementia care. to train up the workforce. Essex Dementia Care: provides one-to-one care, companionship and support to people with dementia in their own home and surrounding community. We spend extended periods of time (usually 2 or 3 hours or more) with our clients, enabling them to maintain an active lifestyle engaged in activities of their own choosing. supports family carers with information, guidance and respite. offers training in dementia care to family carers and professionals.
