Feltham Community Chaplaincy Trust (FCCT) has been in operation within HMYOI Feltham for 17 years. The prison is one of the biggest prisons housing children and young offenders in Europe. FCCT was originally set up by three Prison Chaplains in 2004 to help young people transition back into a community setting when they leave prison. FCCT supports young people aged 15 -21 years in HMYOI Feltham prison by assigning them to a volunteer mentor who helps them transition from prison back into a community setting. FCCT offer support under the 7 pathways as identified by HM Prisons & Probation Service (HMPPS): 1. Accommodation 2. Education, Training and Employment (ETE) 3. Health 4. Drug and Alcohol support 5. Finance, Benefits and Debts 6. Children & Families 7. Attitudes, Thinking and Behaviour. The main emphasis will be on finding employment and training for the young people (ETE) as this is key to helping young people not reoffend.
