About

Maldon District Museum - established in the 1920's, has been described as one of the "best small museums in Essex". Its displays reflect the past 250 years of Maldon and District maritime, social and industrial history. The Museum is a charity, run entirely by a Board of Trustees and appointed committee members. Maldon Museum, the "Museum in The Park" exhibits items directly related to the District, whether they are domestic, industrial, natural or manufactured, discovered locally or collected from afar. The Maldon Museum is housed in an Edwardian building, formerly known as the Park Keeper's Lodge and stands near the main gate to the Promenade Park. We hold a vast archive of artefacts from Maldon's history but there is not always enough room, so our displays are updated on a regular basis.
