Orwell is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered social landlord managing over 3,500 properties across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and North Essex. The majority of our housing stock is general needs housing comprising mainly rental properties for families, couples and individuals in housing need. Orwell also manages and provides support and care services to people living in alms houses, sheltered housing schemes, extra care housing schemes for older people, hostels and flats for young and homeless people and refuges for women fleeing domestic abuse. We also own a number of supported living schemes for adults with learning difficulties. We have schemes and projects across the region. We employ over 700 employees including relief and casual workers, and up to 50 volunteers. We have recently been awarded Gold in The Healthy Workplace Award, are an Investors in People (IiP) Silver accredited organisation and a Disability Confident Employer.
