All of Oxfam's work is based on the belief that every human being has five basic rights: The right to life and security, the right to be heard, the right to a sustainable livelihood and equity and the right to basic social services. Oxfam is fighting to ensure that these rights are no longer violated in hundreds of communities throughout the work. Oxfam is also applying a 'One Programme Approach' to all its programmes. This means that the aim of each of Oxfam?s programmes is to empower people to work their way out of poverty themselves. Oxfam also dedicated itself to quick emergency response and disaster relief work. And finally Oxfam GB aims at raising awareness and achieving lasting change through campaigning.
