The Partially Sighted Society (Havering Branch) has been representing the visually impaired community within the Havering area for nearly forty years. It has grown from a very small group to currently two groups meeting at Yew Tree Resource Centre in Romford. Our monthly social evenings include entertainment such as live music, speakers, quizzes and raffles. We also arrange theatre trips, a summer barbecue and to places of interest. We also run a Drop-In Group every Tuesday afternoon also at Yew Tree Resource Centre, which provides advice, information, social interaction and support for those who have a visual impairment, their friends and carers. The Drop-In Group also provides opportunities to find out about the latest equipment for independent living which is displayed and demonstrated on request in the resource room.
