Sahara in Preston is a voluntary organisation for women, working predominantly for the benefit of black and minority ethnic (BME) women. We provide a free, professional and confidential service in a comfortable and caring environment. We offer support in dealing with a range of complex issues including: Immigration Wellbeing and Health Unemployment Training needs and Domestic abuse Schooling Our wide selection of training and learning opportunities enable women to progress in life. Our counselling and advocacy services are bespoke to the diverse personal and social issues facing women in their daily lives. We provide bilingual support for those whose first language is not English. Our staff and volunteers are multi-lingual and are able to communicate in English, Urdu, Hindi, Romanian, Gujarati, Punjabi and other languages as required. We understand the bespoke needs of BME women and provide a culturally sensitive environment.
