Invisible Walls aims to improve the lives of children and families affected by imprisonment at HMP/YOI Winchester; reducing the risk of fathers reoffending on release and the perpetuation of intergenerational crime through strengthened family relationships. The Invisible Walls Service includes: - Engaging, supporting and signposting families during visits through the Visitors' Centre - Offering play opportunities during prison visits, to improve the experience of children visiting a loved one inside - Parenting support for fathers while they serve their sentences, and soon after release - Monthly weekend Family Days - Regular Homework clubs for school age children of fathers inside - Facilitating local partnerships (e.g. social services, Children service, troubled families), leading information sharing and modelling multi-agency working in support of prisoners' families - Workforce development and training to equip multi-agency workers with the skills and knowledge needed to support the families of prisoners - Producing guidance and resources to support families of prisoners, fathers inside and practitioners, and inform safe practice
