Communication Support is specifically for people who have suffered a stroke and have ended up with communication problems (aphasia/dysphasia). We aim to improve or maintain these problems at our weekly group sessions using simple different weekly conversation topics, quizzes, games etc. Our aim is to stimulate conversation, help members regain their confidence and find other ways of communicating. This is a rehabilitation group, to enable people to find different ways of communicating and to encourage them to try and change their life to cope with the difficulties. Everyone sets their own personal goals and is then discharged when these are achieved, this can be any length of time from 6 months onwards depending on all the criteria.
