Volunteer Car Service: a volunteer car service to help the elderly and disabled get to a range of medical appointments. This can be to the local doctor, any hospital, optician, dentist or other medically connected appointment. Whilst medical appointments are our priority, we can also take you to visit relatives in hospital and care homes. You can use this service if you are elderly, disabled have mobility problems or experience difficulty using public transport. Volunteer drivers use their own cars to take members to their appointments. The appointment is made by you calling the duty officer. We will need to know when and where you are going. We work on appointment times and the driver will collect you from your home in plenty of time. The drivers will wait and take you home, although if it is a long appointment they may drop you off and return later.
