About the Role - An ‘Activity’ may be any part of daily life, done with intention, and appropriate to the resident concerned. You may be supporting an individual or you may be running a group quiz, helping on trips, or leading a sing-a-long! You may come to the role with a definite skill you would like to share – flower arranging, crafts, woodwork, music - or you may come to offer general support to whatever is running, and whoever is in need.

What skills do I need?

  • Are aged 16 and over
  • Friendly with good communication skills
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding of the needs of older people
  • Flexible, reliable, and punctual
  • A clear sense of personal boundaries and confidentiality
  • You'll have the ability to be supportive and non-judgemental
  • You'll be willing to engage with training and development
