We provide gender specific support for women and girls that is flexible, responsive and dynamic. Through trained, expert Key Workers the women who come to us for support have their needs identified and addressed through various interventions; we offer one to one work, group therapy and signposting to external, specialist services who operate from our centres to provide our clients with an holistic, all encompassing service.
We operate services throughout Yorkshire and Humberside from our bases in Bradford, Hull, Leeds and Sheffield, and outreach services for women in Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, New Hall prison and Askham Grange. At TW Bradford we have many different contracts to help support women throughout their journey before and after their experience in the criminal justice system. Every woman will have her own keyworker to work with her to identify and support around any issues that she may have personally as well as those that have linked with her offending or her risk of offending. These issues may be around previous offending, substance misuse, education and training, substance misuse, accommodation or life skills.
We support women by one to one work with our skilled keyworker, courses run by TW and specialist support provided in the centre by partnership agencies. Our groups include confidence building, anger management, arts and crafts, healthy relationships, and social groups. Due to the nature of our work we are only able to accept volunteers who are female and over the age of 18. The role is subject to a DBS check, if you do have any charges or convictions, this will not stop your application but your acceptance will be based on a case by case basis and an assessment of any risk that is presented to the women.
