What skills do I need?
- One-to-one support & mentoring – guiding young people and building trust
- Active listening & communication – understanding needs and responding effectively
- Crisis management – staying calm and providing support in challenging situations
- Empathy and emotional intelligence – understanding and supporting diverse experiences
- Problem-solving & decision-making – helping young people navigate challenges
- Knowledge of safeguarding – keeping young people safe and following policies
- Patience and resilience – working effectively with young people in varied circumstances
