The role will involve being part of our friendly and impactful board, supporting the Finance Manager with the following:
- Ensuring the organisation complies with relevant financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Advising the committee on financial matters and highlighting any significant risks or concerns.
- Supporting fundraising, grant applications, and financial planning where appropriate.
- Maintaining appropriate records of financial decisions and transactions.
- Ensuring funds are securely held and used only for authorised purposes.
This opportunity may also be completed from home.
What skills do I need?
BASIS are looking to appoint someone with proven financial expertise gained at a senior level to complement the current board in its role as a governing body: setting strategy and ensuring exemplary governance and fiscal control. The successful candidate must show an understanding of the issues facing blind and partially sighted people.
