Treasurer

Purfleet Heritage and Military Centre is a non-profit-making charity with a goal to preserve and share both our military and local history for future generations.

To ensure we have a firm footing to take this forward, it is essential we have our finances in order.

Healthy financial records will greatly assist the centre to progress future funding applications and ensure we are able to back our ambitions in providing educational exhibitions for all to enjoy. We also need clear and transparent figures to assist in the submission of our annual return to the Charity Commission.

We are also looking for someone who can carry out day-to-day bookkeeping and introduce an effective end of day cash accounting system.

We are a hard-working group of volunteers with a goal to ensure the Centre survives and flourishes.

The input of a keen and enthusiastic Treasurer will be a valuable asset to us and will play a vital role in our ongoing success.

Please note: we understand this position will mostly be undertaken at the volunteer's home address. Commitments to attend the Centre will be for monthly committee meeting updates and the Annual General Meeting end of year report.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and vision to help the centre push forward and achieve its goals. We would also welcome a team player who can communicate a clear overview of the centre's finances, especially when looking to undertake projects with a financial implication.

Any accounting background or previous experience would be wonderful. We would also welcome good communication skills and self-motivation to ensure returns and financial overviews are produced to meet given deadlines.
