Are you a keen gardener ? Do you have some spare time to help keep our wildlife/plant garden looking beautiful ?

Set in the grounds of Bedford's Park an historic parkland of 215 acres, owned and managed by the London Borough of Havering, the reserve affords fantastic views over London into Kent.

Our Green Team is currently meeting every Wednesday and Sunday from around 10am to 2pm. We have 3 lovely garden areas around the Visitor Centre which we work together to maintain.
Role description:-
- Volunteering in the Community Garden, so requires a willingness to be outdoors.
- Volunteers work at their own pace and be comfortable in taking breaks when needed.
- Following advice from the site management plan and staff.
- Utilizing a variety of hand tools to help complete tasks.
- Ensure that the work carried out is efficient and the gardens are left safe and tidy for visitors.
- Adhere to procedures relating to hygiene, health and safety, fire and security and any other relevant risk assessment information.

- Enthusiasm, a positive attitude and an ability to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds is essential.
- Sturdy work boots or wellies are required and clothes you don't mind getting muddy and dirty, plus a packed lunch if required. Hot drinks provided. 

What skills do I need?

You will be enthusiastic,and be able to follow advice from site management and staff., adhering to site procedures.

Some knowledge of gardening would be helpful, but our Team can direct a beginner.
