Purpose of Role Blyth Tall Ship is committed to celebrating and sharing our region’s maritime heritage with the wider community.

As a Volunteer Community Engagement Officer, you will help bring our exhibitions and displays out into the community, ensuring that schools, libraries, and local groups can access and engage with our history.

Tasks

  • Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of travelling exhibitions and displays.
  • Act as a friendly and knowledgeable representative of Blyth Tall Ship at community events, schools, and libraries. ·
  • Assist with setting up and dismantling exhibitions and displays safely and professionally.
  • Share information about Blyth Tall Ship’s history, projects, and volunteering opportunities with the public.
  • Gather feedback from participants and contribute to improving community outreach.
  • Work closely with staff and volunteers to coordinate schedules and logistics.

Role times and days will vary depending on needs of the project

What skills do I need?

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Some experience of handling exhibition materials or event support would be helpful.
