Each person who'd like to volunteer needs to sign up individually, and volunteers are not permitted to bring friends, family members, or children along with them on shifts.

For insurance purposes, drivers must:

• be between the ages of 23 and 75 
• have held a licence for at least two years, during which time the licence must have been clean.

Based at one of our Skylight or Warehouse our Minibus Driver Volunteers are integral to the delivery of Crisis at Christmas.

Core tasks

• Working with a navigator volunteer to drive guests out on day trips. 
• You may also be asked to drive larger vehicles such as Luton vans to assist in delivering goods to our centres.

• For insurance purposes, drivers are required to provide details of their current vehicle and insurance policy on application, alongside their DVLA PDF Summary, which you must obtain and attach to your application.

What skills do I need?

Confident driving a range of vehicles, ranging from cars to larger vehicles, vans and lutons.   

Drivers who are outright not comfortable driving larger vehicles such as van's, lutons and people carriers should consider applying for alternative roles that do not involve driving.  

Good communication skills and a can do attitude.
