We are looking for a volunteer to support ASG in promoting our activities, services and community impact through social media. Based at the ASG Centre in Redhill, you will help create and share engaging content, promote events and activities, celebrate our work and help increase awareness and engagement with the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create engaging social media content to promote our activities, services and events.
• Take photographs and short videos of activities and events, ensuring appropriate consent has been obtained.
• Create simple graphics, posters and promotional content using tools such as Canva.
• Help maintain and regularly update our social media platforms.
• Promote upcoming events, classes, groups and community activities.
• Share positive stories, achievements and community impact.
• Help increase our social media following and engagement.
• Respond to or flag social media messages and enquiries to the appropriate team member.
• Work with team members and volunteers to identify suitable content and upcoming activities to promote.
• Help ensure ASG’s branding and messaging are consistent across social media.
• Keep up to date with relevant local community news and opportunities that we could share or engage with.
• Monitor basic social media engagement and provide updates to the team.
• Follow ASG’s confidentiality, safeguarding, data protection and social media policies.

What skills do I need?

• An interest in social media, communications and community work.
• Confident using social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn.
• Good written communication and basic IT skills.
• Creative and able to develop engaging posts and content.
• Experience of Canva or similar design tools would be helpful but is not essential.
• An interest in photography and creating short videos would be an advantage.
• Friendly, reliable and able to work well as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Respectful of confidentiality and able to handle information responsibly.
• An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, working with diverse communities.
• Previous social media or communications experience is helpful but not essential, as support and guidance will be provided.
