West Berkshire Libraries are looking for volunteers to provide support with the running of events and activities in our libraries. We appreciate and value the time and help volunteers give and the benefits it brings to our customers, staff and the wider community.

Newbury library is looking for events volunteers to support and assist with running of events. As an events volunteer you could be supporting the library service with half term events, author talks and the annual local Author book fair.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in helping to support the running of Library events by carrying out the following essential tasks which are:

• Assisting library staff with the delivery of events.
• Assisting with preparation and clearing away of events.
• Engage with the public to encourage participation.
• Welcoming attendees.
• Directing attendees to their seats.
• Listening, talking and providing guidance to event attendees.
• Collecting feedback from attendees

What skills do I need?

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with the ability to effectively communicate with all ages. Someone who has a friendly and approachable manner. Has the ability to take clear directions and has flexibility with their availability.
