Park Centre Burgess Hill CIO is a community charity supporting wellbeing, social connection and community development, through our youth and community centre In Burgess Hill. We are seeking a Treasurer – Board Adviser to provide independent financial advice and oversight to the Board. A rewarding opportunity to support a valued local charity and make a real difference in the Burgess Hill community.
In this role you will act as a financial adviser to the Board, supporting sound financial decision-making, sustainability and good financial governance.
Key responsibilities
- Review and prepare budgets, cash flow and financial forecasts
- Present financial insights and recommendations to the Board
- Support preparation and review of annual accounts
- Advise on financial controls, risk and sustainability
- Support compliance with charity finance regulations
What skills do I need?
- Commitment to Park Centre’s values
- Strong financial literacy and confidence reviewing accounts
- Strategic, objective and able to provide constructive challenge
- Willingness to learn charity governance and regulation
- Experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, business or governance is welcome.
- Good communication skills.
- Charity experience is helpful but not essential.
- Local knowledge is an advantage.

Our current treasurer will be leaving at the end of February.
Time commitment:
4–6 Board meetings per year usually held at Park Centre on a Wednesday Evening.
