About

Our mission is to support the early detection of breast cancer in the UK. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, with 1 in 7 developing breast cancer in their lifetime. Almost 50% of breast cancer is first detected by women themselves and yet 49% of women say they don’t check themselves on a regular basis. We provide self-referred breast awareness consultations to women who are 18 and over with specialist nurses. They provide confidential breast awareness advice via a face-to-face appointment (for local women, in normal times) or secure video appointment or telephone call to any woman who wants one, without having to see a GP first. Checking your breasts regularly can make a huge difference in early detection, whether you’re 25 or 75. By learning what’s normal for you, and understanding potential early signs of breast cancer, you can make sure you get the screening, help and support you may need, as soon as possible.
