If you have an interest in conservation, sustainability, education, rainforests, or a passion for plants or animals, The Living Rainforest provides an excellent opportunity to get involved and help make a real difference. Volunteers are highly valued members of our organisation, and have been an integral part of its development from the very beginning of our ventures in 1993. Volunteering is also enormously rewarding and is an excellent way of gaining experience within our industry and sector. The Living Rainforest provides a real rainforest experience for visitors to explore this intriguing habitat. The sensory experience allows people to relate to this complex ecosystem, exploring over 600 species of plants and animals. The general public can learn not only about rainforests but also about the associated issues of conservation and sustainable living. The schools and events program supports these aims by teaching a more formal program. To find out more about volunteering at The Living Rainforest, see our video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iULDmbRW8S8&t=10s Directions: Approximately 9 miles up the B4009 from Newbury just beyond Hampstead Norreys. Follow the Brown Tourist Signs from Hermitage. Alternatively, branch off the B4009 at the Newbury Robin Hood Roundabout onto the A339 / A34 / M4 J13 at Chieveley and then re-join the B4009 at Hermitage and follow the brown signs as above. See our website for a map and full details.
