This volunteer opportunity involves supporting the Facilities Team in maintaining clean, welcoming, and well-stocked hospitality areas at Shooting Star House in Hampton, ensuring families, visitors, volunteers, and staff have access to refreshments in a safe and hygienic environment.

Duties and key responsibilities 

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across hospitality and refreshment areas.

• Keep kitchen and beverage stations clean, tidy, and organised.

• Monitor and replenish supplies such as tea, coffee, milk, snacks, and related consumables.

• Check stock levels and expiry dates, particularly refrigerated items.

• Support infection prevention and hygiene standards within hospitality areas.

• Assist with preparing for internal events when required.

• Report any maintenance, stock, or hygiene concerns to the Facilities Team.


What skills do I need?

Essential Skills and experience 

• Reliable and proactive with a willingness to take initiative.

• Understanding of good hygiene and infection control practices.

• Good attention to detail.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Comfortable moving around the hospice to carry out light stocking and replenishment duties.

• Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality.

• Understands and maintains appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
