Our Floating Support team supports over 100 HARP residents living within the local community, and we're looking for practical, friendly volunteers to lend an extra pair of hands on Wednesdays.

You could volunteer as a Driver, helping transport residents' belongings and other items, or as a Buddy, going along to help with the practical side of jobs. This could include supporting resident moves, moving belongings, collecting or delivering items and helping put together flat-pack furniture.

You don't need to be available every Wednesday or be an expert at DIY! We're looking for reliable people who are happy to get stuck in and help make those practical jobs a little easier for our residents and busy Floating Support team.

We're happy to hear from people who can volunteer regularly or more flexibly. You don't necessarily need to commit to every Wednesday — we can discuss what works for you and the team.

What skills do I need?

No formal qualifications are needed. We're looking for someone friendly, reliable, practical and happy to work as part of a team.

For Driver volunteers, you'll need a full driving licence, access to a suitable vehicle and appropriate insurance.

For Buddy volunteers, you do not need to drive or own a vehicle — just be willing and able to help with practical tasks such as carrying belongings and assembling basic flat-pack furniture.

Full induction, relevant training and ongoing support will be provided.
