We run a theatre school for disabled children in Harwich Tendring Essex. We are on the search for someone good at vocals and music reading to work alongside our music coach by being our vocal Coach. We would only be able to offer as a volunteer role but it’s very rewarding. The volunteering is every/Most Sunday from 9am-5pm. We are understanding on if you can’t make a Sunday just let us know at least 2 weeks in advance at a minimum unless you can’t make it due to sickness or emergency which we ask for just a heads up you can’t attend that day.

You will be working alongside some SEND adults but teaching SEND children vocals.

What skills do I need?

We hope you’ll still apply even if one skill applies to you as everyone will get viewed by our directors equally anyway.

•experience teaching/coaching vocals

•Experienced singer

•experienced performer

•Knowledge of performing

•can read music or is willing to be taught to read music

•Can work well in a team

•Can be understanding and compassionate

•experience with SEND adults

•Experience with SEND children

•Experience in a school or early years setting

•experience in a kids club/activity

•willing to adapt and take critique from higher up (will be given in a kind supportive way only if needed)

•Willing to lift the children’s spirits

•good communication skills

•good punctuality

•good at compromising

•Willing to attend fundraisers

•recognise the needs of the individual child (training will be provided)

We have staff training some Sundays till December. We would like to have you attend the pantomime with the theatre school in Clacton December 6th. We would like to have you volunteer one Saturday this year 12th December which will be a Santa meet and greet day for the local community
