Who Are We?
We’re a local charity with a big ambition: to help everyone face death informed, supported and pain free. Providing expert hospice care, we’re there for people in West Sussex and East Surrey when life comes full circle.
We also pioneer standards in end of life care through collaboration, research and training, reaching even more people facing death and bereavement.
The Role
Do you believe in the power of music to bring people together? St Catherine’s Hospice is looking for a passionate Volunteer Choir Leader to create moments of joy, connection and wellbeing for our staff and volunteers.
You will select inspiring, inclusive songs and confidently lead enjoyable rehearsals that welcome all abilities. Through your enthusiasm, you’ll help build a supportive choir with a shared purpose, working towards performances at hospice events to help raise vital funds for patient care.
This role is ideal for someone with good musical ability, strong communication skills and emotional resilience, who enjoys being part of a team and acting as an ambassador for St Catherine’s. If you’re 18+, love leading others through music and want to make a meaningful difference, we’d love to hear from you.
Why we want you As a Volunteer Choir Leader
Through the power of music you will bring staff and volunteers together to create moments of joy and connection across the hospice. You will carefully select songs and confidently guide a choir in a way that brings people together and builds a sense of shared purpose. Your enthusiasm for leading inclusive, enjoyable rehearsals will help staff and volunteers feel uplifted and connected, regardless of their musical experience. Wellbeing is at the heart of the choir, and through rehearsing we aim to get to a level where we can perform at hospice events and raise vital funds to support patient care.
