Newly launched Carer Wellbeing Workshops will provide Carers with crucial information to support them in their caring role covering topics such as; Understanding the caring role, Knowing the rights of a Carer, how to access support and communicate with confidence; Self-care and stress management; Navigating health and social care. Each workshop will also provide attendees with support from peers with an opportunity for people to come together share their experiences in a positive, social environment. Many people can feel anxious about attending a group being met by a friendly face helps to put people at ease and to make a welcoming supportive environment.
• Keen interest in providing Carers with skills and information to support them in their caring roles • Understanding, caring and trustworthy • Patient and empathetic • Good active listening and communication skills • Positive and flexible • Life experiences and knowledge of working with others and helping within your own community • Willing to volunteer within procedures and be involved in training
Desirable
• Facilitating groups/workshops • Experience working/volunteer on topics with the course content • Previously worked or volunteered in a health or social care environment • Able to communicate in another language • Lived or worked experience engaging with global ethnic majority and/or LGBQT+ communities
