  • Assist staff to set up and clear away venue
  • Meet and greet attendees
  • Make refreshments
  • Interact with group members both Carers and those living with Dementia during activities
  • Activities include crafts, games, seated exercises and quizes
  • What benefits a volunteer will get:

    • Being part of a lively and supportive social group and
    • Helping people to live well with dementia
    • Build confidence and develop new skills

    Why volunteer's are needed:

    Many people can feel anxious about attending a group being met by a friendly face helps help put people at ease and to make the group a welcoming supportive environment.


What skills do I need?

Have some knowledge of Dementia, this can be lived experience enables a volunteer to understand and fully support both the Carers and those living with Dementia within the group.

  • Empathy
  • Able to talk to all members and non-judgmental
  • Any specialist interests e.g. art, craft, quizzes, exercise would be valuable to support staff and attendees with group activities
